For the Sake
of the World
As Jesus-followers, we’re called to be curious and attuned to how He is at work in the world. He invites us to learn from, partner with, and serve our sisters and brothers in the global Body of Christ as we participate in His Kingdom work in a variety of contexts. As the Campus House community, we seek to approach global partnerships in an ongoing, relational way through both prayer and presence.
Camp BellaVista
Urcuqui, Ecuador
Frank and Mary Huera, in partnership with three families from the West Lafayette area, launched Camp BellaVista in the highlands of Ecuador in 2020. Initially, their plan was to create a space for Christian camps and retreats. As they laid the foundations—literally and metaphorically—for this vision, God began bringing people to the camp who were curious about what made the place unique. Over the past few years, along with building the camp, God has been planting a church at Camp BellaVista with a heart for reaching the surrounding communities with the love of Jesus. Now, leaders from the church host a weekly children’s and youth gathering at the camp and visit nearby towns to build relationships and share Jesus.
Campus House began partnering with Camp BellaVista in January 2020, when we sent our first Vision Trip team to help clear land and build the camp’s bath house. Each team since has continued to partner with the camp staff and church community to build infrastructure at Camp BellaVista and host larger outreach events. Along with Vision Trips, we as the Campus House community partner with them through prayer and by helping to equip their leaders, many of whom are new believers, through regular connection over online platforms.
Prayer Requests
- Pray that people in the region would experience transformational relationship with Jesus.
- Pray for grace and protection over the church leaders as they continue to pour into their community.
- Pray that the Lord will call and equip new church leaders as more people commit their lives to following Him.
- Pray for Alpha, as the church leaders launch Alpha groups as a foundation for creating missional communities.
Upcoming Trips
We anticipate returning to Camp BellaVista in summer 2025, with trip dates still to be determined.
