A Letter From Rob

Greetings from Purdue! I wanted to write to you on behalf of Campus House and connect you with the scope and purpose of this ministry that your «relation» «first_name» has attended this fall. Campus House is a non-denominational, Bible-based ministry founded by six Purdue students nearly 60 years ago. Now, several hundred students from various backgrounds and church traditions call Campus House their church home. For many of them, this is a time of building on the foundation they were given by their families and churches; but for others, this is brand new. For all of them, these college years can be a challenging but incredibly transformative season of making faith their own. It is both exciting and humbling for us to be involved in that journey. We just moved into our brand new home in the heart of Purdue. It’s a beautiful and functional space that we’ve been praying toward for years&emdash;that more Boilermakers would come to know their place at Jesus’ table, grow in their discipleship, and take the Good News to every corner of campus in embodied, creative ways. This year, we’re hosting Sunday worship services both in-person (with masks) and via live stream. House Groups are smaller gatherings that meet weekly to learn and live out what it means to follow Jesus in a more intimate context. We also plan to offer workshops, classes, and retreats over the coming months to dive deeper into particular topics of faith and culture. All of it is for the purpose of encouraging a depth of relationship with Jesus that often gets sidelined amidst the busyness and social pressures of college life, as well as inviting them to look outward to a campus that desperately needs the hope of Christ. Your «relation» provided your contact information, wanting you to stay informed about what is happening around here. Please let us know if you would prefer not to get occasional updates, and we will kindly take your name off the mailing list. We’ve also enclosed a booklet that highlights ways students can connect with Campus House this school year. We also invite you to pray about financially supporting Campus House. We are not supported by any denomination or the University, and we rely on the support of parents of students like you (as well as alums and churches). It is through the support of a new group of parents each year that we are able to continue and grow our outreach to Purdue students. If you have any questions about supporting Campus House, feel free to contact our Director of Development, GiJey Gilliam, at 765-743-3612 or at [email protected]. You may also feel free to reach me at [email protected] with any other questions.
