INTRODUCTION
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
Matt. 4:17
A RENEWED VISION FOR OUR CALLING
THE PAST FEW YEARS in the life of our ministry have seen a series of profound changes. We have, together with so many of you, navigated a capital campaign, a building project in the midst of a pandemic, the feeling of starting over as we opened our beautiful new building, and a refreshed vision for ministry and mission. This year, our team crafted a new identity statement to express where we feel God is leading us in this next season: to become a Jesus-centered community being formed together in His ways for the sake of the campus, the city, and the world. As we weave this new vision statement with stories of God’s work on campus, we hope that it serves as both inspiration and invitation into the coming years of obedience to His calling and will for our ministry.
A JESUS-CENTERED COMMUNITY BEING FORMED TOGETHER IN HIS WAYS FOR THE SAKE OF THE CAMPUS, THE CITY, AND THE WORLD
A JESUS-CENTERED COMMUNITY
AIDAN, Sophomore & Worship Team Member
“Being a part of the worship band has really helped me grow as a Christian, challenging me to approach playing the guitar as worship rather than a performance, and it has helped me to be humble as I have met many other talented musicians! We all share the same goal, to glorify Christ. Getting to be a part of the worship that unifies so many people on Sundays is such an awesome experience.”
THIS YEAR, our Prayer Council and worship team cultivated an intentional time of prayer and worship in preparation for each Sunday’s services, along with regular intercession gatherings and worship nights. These rhythms offered spaces for personal healing, deepened intimacy with God, and regular prayer for our campus, our city, and the world.
Rob and Lea shared from John 9 as part of this school year’s teaching series on Life with Jesus. View recordings of Sunday services at the link below.
“In this season, we are growing in intercession. We are seeing a lot of prayers for big issues—prayers for reconciliation, prayers for people to love one another better, prayers for more people to know Jesus.”
COLE, Community Member & Prayer Council Member
DAVE SHOCKEY, Pastor of Mobilization & Director of Prayer
“One of the most genuine pleasures of prayer ministry is helping people to learn to discern the voice of God. Jesus says in John 10:27, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” There are few things cooler than watching the shift in people’s hearts and lives as they discover God isn’t distant and silent, but actively and lovingly leading, teaching, guiding, healing, and helping.”
BEING FORMED TOGETHER IN HIS WAYS
MACKENZIE, Junior & Lead Sunday School Teacher
“Leading in children’s ministry at Campus House is such a sweet blessing! It’s a chance to teach kids about Jesus, but in a roundabout way, it feels like they’re really the ones teaching me each week. They ask insightful questions and have a special way of finding joy in every situation. As I spend more time with them, I can tell God is shaping my heart to do the same—and pointing us all back to Jesus along the way.”
STUDENTS
grew closer to God and one another through the Spring Break retreat.
STUDENTS
gathered at Align each Wednesday night
to go deeper in discipleship and community.
“The students in our group are a joy. We love seeing them grow in their understanding that God is good and the ways that deepened understanding is changing how they think and the choices they make. And they love each other so well. We feel honored that God would use us through simple relating, teaching, mentoring, and eating!”

AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS
were equipped in their discipleship through two weekend leadership conferences.
DUTCH, Junior &
Joshua House Resident
“Living in Joshua House has pushed and challenged me to grow deeper in relationship with the Lord. Getting to live life with 14 other guys who all love and pursue the Lord consistently encourages me to give more of my time over to what He has planned. We strive to be a community and a place where seasoned believers, new believers, and non-believers can hear and experience the love of Jesus together. Being a relational hub for people at all stages of faith allows for people to be introduced to Jesus, share their faith, and grow in discipleship, all while having an absolute blast together.”
FOR THE SAKE OF THE CAMPUS, THE CITY, AND THE WORLD
We hosted two sessions of the Alpha course this year. Through each series, participants from a variety of backgrounds explored Christianity with leaders who are rooted in Jesus.
STEPHANIE, Senior & Alpha Leader
“Alpha is a unique space in that it allows all participants to be open about where they are with faith. Through Alpha, God has softened hearts, and participants have been integrated into our community in a way that allows them to continue conversations about faith even beyond Alpha.”
PARTICIPANTS
explored the Christian faith within the Campus House community.
MEALS
were served by small
groups of students, community
members, and supporters.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
joined us for a traditional Thanksgiving meal.
This year has been remarkable in the life of Greyhouse. In March, the Greyhouse team opened The Lobby by Greyhouse, which has become rooted in the downtown Lafayette community. The Greyhouse missional community has also grown, both in number and impact, as more baristas have participated in and led discipleship spaces. The extraordinary hospitality and faithful presence of Greyhouse continues to be one of the most significant ways that we love and serve the Purdue and Greater Lafayette communities.
GUESTS
were served at Greyhouse West Lafayette, Greyhouse Campus, and The Lobby by Greyhouse.
BARISTAS
demonstrated extraordinary hospitality to our community as part of the Greyhouse staff.
PEOPLE
attended this year’s Starry Night Music & Arts Festival outside Greyhouse West Lafayette.
RACHEL MACLEOD, Greyhouse Food & Beverage Manager
“Working as a barista at Greyhouse brought me into a community that saw our ordinary work—pouring lattes, washing dishes, spinning crepes—as an avenue to show Jesus in concrete ways that mean more to people than we tend to think. As a manager, I now get to see and participate in the hard work and faith that goes into creating this seemingly effortless community. I constantly see God moving our staff into situations that grow and stretch them as they are invited to trust that He will meet them, over and over again, in their ordinary work.”
EPILOGUE
THROUGH THIS YEAR-IN-REVIEW, our team has done an awesome job in capturing a snapshot of what God has been up to this last year in and through the ministry of Campus House—the stories, the people, the work. But if we could leave you with one impression, if we could encapsulate everything into one phrase, it would be this: It’s all about Jesus.
For nearly six decades, generations of Campus House people have been humbled by both the majesty and specificity of how, by God’s grace, this “House” has become a kind of epicenter for reverberations of the Gospel as Jesus continues to transform lives. I don’t think it is by sheer coincidence that we are located in the heart of campus and, as such, carry a responsibility to make an impact for Christ. But that only happens if we are abiding with Christ, if He truly remains the center of everything we are, everything we do.
Everything is from Him.
Everything is through Him.
Everything is for Him.
You all, the wider Campus House community partnered with us, are a part of this story, this vision, this ongoing work of magnifying Christ in and through the lives of His people on Purdue’s campus—and beyond. In the season ahead, may we be developing an imagination for God’s Kingdom breaking into our neighbors’ lives and circumstances. May we be responding to Jesus in real time and in practical ways. May we be centered on Him as He forms us, together, in His ways, for the sake of the campus, city, and world.

FINANCIAL OVERVIEW
For over 50 years, God has graciously and strategically positioned Campus House to meet Purdue students and the campus community with the grace and truth of Jesus. Thank you for your partnership in this good work.
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we can ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work in us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!” (Eph. 3:20–21).
Your generosity helped us to exceed our year-end goal.Thank you! Email [email protected] to view the full 2023 financial report.
IN 2023, we received the first half of a several hundred thousand dollar estate gift. While we don’t yet have a final number for the full gift amount, this installment totaled nearly $300,000. This was completely unexpected and nothing short of miraculous, as we were not previously connected with the givers. It has been a powerful reminder of God’s providence for our ministry as He meets our every need, both those we know and those we do not yet see.
This gift comes amid a hard financial season for Greyhouse. As we continue to move toward financial sustainability, we are also growing the ministry staff and resources available to the Greyhouse team, recouping costs from expanding from one shop to three, and battling increased rents in Chauncey Village. We are deeply grateful for the way this estate gift allows us to continue to invest in the ministry of Greyhouse. This piece has told many stories of God’s awe-inspiring grace for us in 2023, and without a doubt, we count this one among them.
